Lake Caroline is a gated community situated on a pristine 277-acre lake, surrounded by 1,500 acres of protected land. We are home to over 1,000 single-family residences in the Madison District of Caroline County, Ruther Glen, Virginia.
The lake flows west to east — more than two miles long, averaging 15 feet deep and 32 feet at the dam. Ten miles of tree-lined shoreline are fed by hillside springs, natural wells, and Stevens Mill Run.
Nestled in peaceful serenity, our members enjoy year-round amenities: a swimming pool, tennis and pickleball courts, a clubhouse, 24/7 security, two sandy beaches, eleven recreation areas, and two marinas with full lake access.
Open to every member household. Most are free to use; some require a small reservation through the member portal.
Open daily 10am–8pm in season. Lounge chairs, lifeguarded weekends, and shaded deck.
